The Claim Jumpers Poster

I would spend hours at the Waldenbooks and Pickwick Book Shop in Puente Hills Mall (remember those?) perusing the science fiction section as a kid and teenager. What drew me to the books, aside from my rabid love of science fiction, were the covers. Particularly the mid to late 70’s covers and, as I discovered the joy of used book stores, the artwork on the covers from the 60’s. Bold. Brash. Sometimes abstract to the point of having absolutely nothing to do with the content but eye-catching all the same.

A bit literal to the story and not as abstract as the covers of my youth, I still incorporated the style and brashness that I admired, and still admire. Enjoy.
